Telašćica Nature Park

Telašćica Nature Park

Telašćica is one of the biggest, safest and most beautiful Croatian natural harbours, which makes it mandatory sailing destination. It is located on the southeastern part of the island of Dugi Otok. Thanks to its exceptional beauty, with around 15 surrounding islands and islets, Telašćica bay was proclaimed a Nature Park in 1988. It is a 10km deep inlet with cliffs, bays and islets. This area has exceptionally valuable plant and animal life and lush colonies of the sea bottom. The southwestern shore of Telašćica bay is covered in thick pine forest, fig tree and olive, but the northeastern side of the bay is completely bare. Telašćica also provides peaceful beaches on one side and wild steep cliffs on the other.

Lake Mir is situated in the southwestern part of the Nature Park Telašćica. It lies in a narrow area of land between the open sea and Telašćica bay. The lake is approximately 900 m long and 300 m wide, while the maximum depth is 6 m. The shores of the lake are rocky and low.
